I have not been able to play Crimson Skies for a while now due to Nvidia graphics drivers that broke something in the game on Windows XP. The only way to fix it was to use some really old drivers and I was not willing to do that. But now that Win 7 is out, I guess the drivers don't break it anymore. I even found a couple of patches that fix the corruption in the menus and let you set your own game resolution too. Great news speedbump.

I loved the alternative parallel world thing of CS on the old xbox and in a moment of nostalgia recently I acquired the PC version but had the same issues as you after installing on XP with nvidia gpu. A real disappointment and unplayable. I got Crimson Skies the other day but just can't get it running. Can you give me a hand with it? I feel like I'm missing one of the instructions. Installed the game, ran the 1.02 patch, extracted the csfix.7z files to the root folder.

I have compat mode set to Win 98se and run as admin. Have also tried running as Win 85. I've gotten the small menu as expected, but I either get the strobing white screen at mission briefing (doesn't go away, and can't see anything) or it goes to the game, but all I see are wireframes of the zeppelin, or I did get it to run the game on software rendering, but horrible color and pixelated. Right so, here's the fix for me. Install Crimson Skies. Run the 1.02 patch. Open the game, select hardware driver, put all of the settings to max. Take the new 'crimson.exe' file AND the 'csfix.ini' file from the 'csfix-old.7z' folder (which is exactly the same version a previous user posted about here) and paste them in your Crimson Skies folder. Copy and paste the 'csfix.dll' file from the new 'csfix.7z' folder (which is newer version than the previous poster was using) into your Crimson Skies folder. Finally, copy and paste all the lines of code that are in the new 'csfix.ini' file over into the old 'csfix.ini' file (which should already be in your Crimson Skies folder, see step 4.)
